Passionate Research and Ongoing Service

As an Army Infantry soldier I spent a decade deploying to combat terrorists. Afterwords I faced years struggling to find my way, and I understand the difficulties many veterans face as we integrate ourselves back into our communities. Thankfully my service to my community and country continues.

As a dedicated social science researcher, my work focuses on understanding stress management and renewal, particularly within the military veteran community. My unique approach uses neuroscience to address these critical issues.

Currently pursuing my PhD at Case Western Reserve University, I am conducting research titled 'Renewal through HOPE.' This study seeks to uncover the ways golf can aid veterans in overcoming stress and encourage recovery.

Studies

My research aims to investigate the interconnectedness between golf, stress relief, and the process of renewal among military veterans, especially those who have participated in the PGA HOPE program.

Golf

Stress Relief Tool

I focus on the psychological benefits golf provides, offering veterans a means to connect with nature and find solace amidst challenges. This sport can serve as a powerful tool for resilience and recovery.

Neuroscience

Understanding Stress

Using neuroscience, I seek to explore how the brain processes stress and renewal cycles, helping to develop insights that can promote healing strategies for veterans facing transition challenges.

Veterans

Focus Group

Engaging with veterans is central to my study. By interviewing participants, I aim to gather real insights about golf's impact on their lives and how it helps navigate the stress and renewal journey.
